lysyntese at FJORD OSLO – NO / 2019

lysyntese at Fjord Oslo 2019 https://vimeo.com/380934795 If light plays such an important role in our physical condition, then light art plays similarly important role in our non – physical condition? In other words, if light is so important for our biological existence, then – the artist presumes, light art is similarly important to our spiritual existence. The title Lysyntese merges two words: lys (light) and syntese (synthesis). The new art piece reflects on the process of photosynthesis in nature and aspires to create a “spiritual photosynthesis” in the experience of the artwork of light. Light Art affects people in many non-physical ways: emotionally, psychologically, intellectually. Hence light art is similarly important for our spiritual state as light is for our biological state. MEMORIES / Karlsruhe – DE / 2018

MEMORIES MEMORIES is a visualization of few personal memories of the artist. Imagining that Memories are „stored” in a specific space, the artist unveils „the place” where these memories are actually created. Based on the nature of remembering, memories are always connected to something: a number, a word, a feeling. Using data visualization, viewing helpers, force field vectors, glitches and data mosh, László Zsolt Bordos generates abstract connections between his real memories and an imagined way of „how they are stored”. This „storage room” is a fragile place, due to the ability of forgetting, some memories might be lost forever, this way Memories become delicate and fragile entities of remembrance, they become something to take care of. In the reading of the artist, Glitches for example are a perfect way to visualize partially forgotten memories or lost thoughts. Or Data Mosh is a perfect way to create transitions between different memories. Hence the artist is not visualizing his personal memories in a narrative way, but an imaginative abstraction instead.   Concept and visuals: László Zsolt Bordos Sound: Ondřej Skala “Memories” typography, ABC object: Adam Slowik Curated by: Peter Weibel   Photo by: Uli Deck

KONSTELLATIO / LUX Helsinki – FI / 2018

KONSTELLATIO at LUX Helsinki 2018 https://vimeo.com/251047337 This projection was inspired by the album Konstellaatio by the late Finnish musician Mika Vainio. Vainio’s sounds have inspired digital artists like László Bordos all over the world. Bordos and the organizers of the Lux Helsinki festival are dedicating this art project to the memory of Mika Vainio. Using dozens of controllable lights and stroboscopes, the artist created a light sculpture using a combination of real lights and virtual lights (projection). COLORATTACK at LUMINA / Cascais – PT / 2017

COLORATTACK https://vimeo.com/246734268 I’ve started using projectors in 2000, I am doing 3d mapping projections since 2007. Projects are part of the creative process where the projected venues are like phases of creation. Until this year (2017) I was mainly focused on working without colors (black and white). This was an aesthetic choice, but in many cases, it was a video-technical necessity to gain maximum contrast as well. This year something happened. Colors “attacked”. I wanted to share this experience with the visitors of LUMINA Light Festival 2017.
